IELTS is perhaps the world’s most well-known international English exam, recognised by all Higher Education institutions and Further Education colleges in the UK and by professional regulators such as the GMC, NMC and Social Work England.
IELTS is a Secure English Language Test (SELT) recognised by the Uk government for visa purposes, including for work, study and indefinite leave to remain.

OET is the world’s most widely recognised test of English for Healthcare. It is used by healthcare regulators in the UK – the GMC, NMC, GDC, HCPC and GPhC – to assess whether an internationally trained doctor, nurse, dentist, allied health professional and pharmacist has the right level of English to provide safe and effective care.
